What does guthabenwerk actually do?

We run an online top-up service for Ortel Mobile prepaid customers in Germany. You send the prepaid number and a value, our small crew in München confirms the details, and the top-up is applied on the operator side — usually within one working day.

Nothing more, nothing else. No SIM sales, no tariff switching, no marketplace of things nobody asked for. Written for mobile-savvy Munich residents who use a prepaid Ortel line as a daily driver and want the top up ortel mobile step to take less time than opening a banking app.

How does the ortel recharge online flow work?

Send the number and a value

Open the recharge form. Type your Ortel Mobile prepaid number in the German format (+49 followed by 10 or 11 digits) and pick one of the four preset amounts, or type a custom value between 5 and 100 €.

Confirm on the checkout page

The form redirects to payments.guthabenwerk.org where you enter card details. Amount and order id are read from the URL; nothing hidden. Visa and Mastercard, 3-D Secure step-up on the issuer bank side.

Balance appears on the SIM

After the payment is accepted, the workshop pushes the top-up to Ortel Mobile. During office hours that usually takes a few minutes; outside hours it queues to the next working morning.

02 workshop rules

Why bother with a tiny top-up workshop at all?

01 · Human on the line

Every request is read by a person

No bot triage. If the number does not match the German prepaid format or the value looks like a typo, the workshop writes back before anything moves.

02 · No card storage

Cards live on the payment page only

Card fields sit on payments.guthabenwerk.org. Once the transaction is done, we keep an order id and the four last digits — that is all.

03 · One thing well

Prepaid top-ups, nothing else

We do not sell SIMs, tariffs, phones or contract lines. Fewer moving parts, fewer places for a bad top up ortel mobile order to go sideways.

04 · Local hands

Based at Pacellistraße 10

Physical desk in München-Altstadt-Lehel, a few blocks from Marienplatz. If a step in the ortel recharge online flow needs a call, you get a real number.

03 who uses this

Five reasons somebody opens this page

  1. A

    Ran out mid-call

The 4G data indicator dropped, the call ended awkwardly, and reloading through the operator's own site is one login too many.

  2. B

    Foreign card only

Not every prepaid app accepts every card. The workshop takes Visa and Mastercard, single 3-D Secure step, no extra registration.

  3. C

    Family line

Second SIM used only for family in another country. Top it up once a month, forget about it in between.

  4. D

    Travel SIM

Prepaid Ortel Mobile line kept alive for trips. Small credit twice a year is enough to keep the number active.

  5. E

    Backup device

Old phone that lives in a drawer for two-factor codes. Needs credit to receive SMS from time to time.

Voice of the workshop

A top-up should behave like a light switch: press it, the room is bright, you go back to whatever you were doing. Anything more is somebody selling you a subscription in disguise. — posted on the workshop wall, Pacellistraße 10

Common questions about the ortel recharge online flow

How long does the top-up take once the payment is through?
During Mon–Fri office hours the workshop usually applies it within a few minutes. Payments outside office hours queue and land in the next working morning.
Which cards work on the checkout page?
Visa and Mastercard, issued anywhere. Cards starting with 3, 6 or 35 (Amex, Discover, JCB) are not supported.
Is there an account, a subscription, or a monthly fee?
None of the three. You pay per top-up, nothing recurs.
What if the value hits the card but the SIM stays empty?
Reply to the confirmation e-mail with the order id. If the top-up did not land on the operator side, the amount is refunded to the same card within a few working days. See the refund page.
